I always had a dream to work professionally with children and to instill in them a very positive self-image. I began working as a Preschool Assistant Teacher with a local childcare center in 1998. I found this to be very rewarding, but I wanted to do more for children. In the year 2000, I was promoted to Lead Teacher of the School Age Children. I was responsible for planning the entire Summer Camp Program complete with crafts, field trips, and cooking. Included in this program, was a special secondary program on caring, sharing and the fact that kindness is contagious. I was determined to help these young children become compassionate adults. I enjoyed being with these children and watching their self-esteem grow.
We went to Nursing Homes, Homeless Shelters, and we collected used toys for Children's Hospital as well as food, clothing and school supplies for Reach Out Lakota. One of the Moms in our Center developed cancer, so we planted an entire flower garden for her. I wanted the children to see that there were many people in our area that needed their help.
I was promoted to an Assistant Director Position in 2001 and attended classes to receive my Child Development Associate Degree. I remained an Assistant Director for three years and became increasingly aware of how to manage a Daycare from aspects such as child development, parental communication, financial accounting, and most of all having moral integrity in the workplace.
In November 2004, I became the Director of that Center. I had been at the same Center for seven years when I was asked to undertake the opening of this new Christian Center. Needless to say, I was very excited. I have been working behind the scenes since November gearing up for our Grand Opening this August. My main focus will be dedicated to nurturing and enriching the young lives of your children. We will strive to equip them with a love for learning and we will let them know how much God loves them.
